ABOUT US
Brown Girl Luxe is a Non-Profit Organization designed to drive awareness of among
Uterine Fibroid Disease African-American and Minority Women. Studies show that 25% of African-American women will suffer from fibroids by age 25, and 80% will have them by age 50. Black and Minority women suffer Fibroids at an earlier age; they are also 2 to 3 times more likely to undergo surgery.

Black and Brown women are disproportionately affected by uterine fibroids, and yet, there is still a lack of understanding and resources available for those living with this condition. Through educational campaigns, support groups, and financial assistance for treatment, Brown Girl Luxe works to empower women to take control of their health and advocate for themselves. By raising awareness and providing resources and support, Brown Girl Luxe hopes to improve the lives of Black and Brown women living with uterine fibroids.

BGL strives to provide education, information, and resources to enable, equip, and influence women of all ages to discover better health choices, including clinics specializing in prevention measures and non-invasive surgeries.
MISSION STATEMENT

STATISTICS
This section provides data on the prevalence of uterine fibroids in different communities, as well as information on risk factors, diagnosis rates, and treatment outcomes. We hope that this information raises awareness of this important issue and encourages additional study into effective methods of preventing and treating uterine fibroids in Black and Brown women.

Black women are: 2-3 times more likely to
have Fibroids diagnosed at a younger age.
25% of African-American women will suffer Fibroids from by the age of 25 and 80% will have them by age 50 (compared with 70% for white females).

Minority Women are likely to have 7 or more Fibroids, more likely to have more severe and more troublesome symptoms.
